Early M.A. Donohue & Co. Chicago edition of Black Beauty by Anna Sewell. Beautiful red cloth binding with ornate gilt and black Art Nouveau floral and horsehead design on cover and spine. Includes illustrated plates throughout.
Book is in good condition for its age—bright gilt, clean pages, and solid binding. Original slipcase is included but shows noticeable wear along the edges, and the old glassine wrapper is present though fragile and torn. Still a striking display copy and collectible edition.
