Control of Wax Moth Larvae in Honeybee Stored Frames (5 OZ) NOT for USE in Live Hives OR ON Frames Infested with WAXWORMS. USE to Protect Clean Dry STORED Frames ONLY.

The new wax moth control product, B402 (also known as Certan), uses Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt), a bacterium commonly found in nature that selectively kills wax moths at the larval stage. The moths, which can destroy honey bee wax combs and even the structure of hives, cause widespread damage and even colony losses for beekeepers. B402 offers efficacy of up to 100% against wax moth larvae when used as directed. Approved in all 50 states and District of Columbia. DO NOT USE INSIDE A LIVE HIVE OR ON FRAMES ALREADY INFESTED WITH WAXWORMS.

• Sufficient to protect 80 Deep Langstroth Style Frames. Apply with a sprayer to dry clean frames. Spray on BOTH sides and allow to dry before storage. DO NOT USE INSIDE A LIVE HIVE. DO NOT USE INSIDE A LIVE HIVE.
• Non toxic to bees, pets, or humans. Now approved in 50 states plus DC.
• Mixes 19:1 Water to Certan, 5 oz makes 100 oz. Use the mixed solution within 48 hours. Some users had problems figuring out the mixture. If you use ONE ounce of Certan, mix that with 19 ounces of water. Use 19 parts water to one part Certan. Five ounces makes 100 oz of solution (5 oz of Certan plus 95 oz (19x5) of water - 1:19). The ratio is by VOLUME, not WEIGHT.
• No need to use paradichlorobenzene, SO2, or put frames in freezer. No need to crosshatch frames or hang in open air. DO NOT USE IN A LIVE HIVE.
• Do not use on frames IN HIVE, or on frames already infested with waxworms. This is a PREVENTATIVE biological agent, not a PESTICIDE.

• This product has no effective expiration date as the product is activated with the addition of water. Just as with AFB spores, which can be domant for decades, the product is dormant until activated with water. Spraying the frames with the solution activates the spores, but as the water dries out, the spores becomes dormant until consumed by a wax worm larvae.
