Type: Chinese New Year poster (Nianhua 年畫)
• Subject: Children with goldfish & lotus (symbols of abundance & harmony)
• Inscription: “富贵绵长” (Fu Gui Mian Chang – May wealth & honor be long-lasting)
• Age: Mid 20th century (c. 1950s–70s, printed in the style of traditional 1920s woodblock prints)
• Size: Large – Print approx. 27” × 19”; overall with frame ~37” × 25”
This print shows two children with goldfish and lotus flowers, classic folk symbols of abundance, fertility, and harmony. The lower left bears the blessing “富贵绵长”, meaning “May wealth and honor be long-lasting.”
Printed mid-20th century (c. 1950s–70s) in the style of traditional early 20th century woodblock prints.
Condition
Corner tears, wrinkles, and edge wear.
• Housed in an IKEA frame, but the frame is deformed and cannot hold plexiglass securely.
