This is an absolutely beautiful set. The figures are very delicately and painstakingly crafted in earthenware clay. Then they are 'dressed' in fabrics that is varnished and hardened against them. There are ten figures in total. Mary, Joseph, Infant Jesus, a shepherdess, a man carrying a bundle of sticks, three wise men, a cow, and a donkey. The animals' features are very beautiful and life-like. The clothes of the wise men are rich and sparkling. They range in size but the largest measures six inches in height, and the smallest the baby Jesus measures a little over two inches across. The box they came in indicates Made in Italy, the word Nicla, and the name Bartolozzi handwritten.
